The UNOH Motorsports Team concluded nine demanding days of competition at the 2026 DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park, wrapping up a week and a half of racing that tested the team’s preparation, teamwork, and determination against some of the toughest Modified competition in the country.

From the first day in the pits to the final laps of the last race, the focus remained on working together, improving each night, and making the most of every opportunity on track. The large fields and constantly changing track conditions made consistency and communication critical, and the team continued to adapt as the week progressed.

Throughout the event, UNOH drivers showed competitive speed in qualifying and battled hard in Heat races and Last Chance Showdowns, racing against experienced drivers and nationally competitive teams. Each night brought new challenges, but also steady progress as the team refined setups and gained confidence on the fast Volusia surface.

The final night of competition provided several strong performances. Eric Kinney, driver of the #1 modified, delivered an impressive run, gaining six positions to finish 7th after working his way forward through traffic. Dylan Drake, #11 driver, continued to battle in a deep field and brought home a 13th-place finish, showing persistence and consistency throughout the night. Aidan Hinds, behind the wheel of the #01 modified, transferred into the A-Main and put together one of the strongest drives of the week, advancing eleven positions and reaching 13th before parts failure unfortunately ended his race early. Despite the setback, the performance reflected the speed and effort the team had built over the course of the event.

Behind the results was a tremendous amount of work in the pits. Long days and late nights were spent preparing cars, making adjustments, and getting ready for the next time on track. The teamwork between drivers and crew played a major role in keeping the cars competitive and ready to race each night.

During the week, the team also had the opportunity to spend time with students from Volusia County Schools and T. DeWitt Taylor High School, sharing what goes into racing and giving them a look at the work that happens behind the scenes. Even on a night when rain forced a cancellation, and there was no racing, it was time well spent connecting with people who share an interest in the sport.

The nine days at Volusia were demanding, but they also showed the strength of the team. Competing at an event like the DIRTcar Nationals requires persistence, focus, and the ability to keep pushing forward, and the UNOH Motorsports Team did exactly that.

As the team returns home, the experience gained, the progress made, and the effort shown over nine days of competition will carry forward into the rest of the season. The speed is there, the teamwork is strong, and the group continues to build momentum for what lies ahead. The UNOH Motorsports Team will run its next race on Friday, May 1st 2026, for Opening Night at Limaland Motorsports Park.
